Hyderabad: Vivo has announced the launch of its new foldable phone in India. The name of this new phone is Vivo X Fold 5. The company recently launched this phone in China and has now released a teaser for its India launch. However, the official launch date for this upcoming foldable phone in India has not yet been confirmed by the company. Vivo has made a new post on X (formerly Twitter). Through this post, Vivo has officially announced the launch of the Vivo X Fold 5 foldable phone in India. The company has also released a banner on Flipkart, confirming that the phone will be sold exclusively on Flipkart.

According to the official landing page of the Vivo X Fold 5, the phone will come with a 6000mAh battery, along with support for 80W fast charging and 40W wireless fast charging. The Chinese model of this phone also features the same battery capacity and fast charging support. In addition, the company claims that the phone is equipped with an IP5X rating for dust resistance and IPX8 + IPX9 ratings for water resistance.

Key Highlights of the Phone

One of the standout features of the Vivo X Fold 5 is its ability to function even in extremely cold environments — as low as -20°C. This means users can use the phone worry-free even in freezing weather conditions. The phone also features a carbon fiber-supported hinge, which has been tested by engineers for 600,000 folds. As a result, the company claims that the hinge of this foldable Vivo phone is highly durable and long-lasting.

Talking about the Chinese model of this phone, it features a Zeiss-backed triple rear camera setup on the back. It includes a 50MP telephoto lens, a 50MP main sensor, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies and video calling, the phone comes with a 20MP front camera, available on both the inner and outer displays.

The camera is equipped with AI Image Studio features for enhanced photography. The phone also includes a shortcut button that provides quick access to various functions such as sound modes, flashlight, camera, notes, and voice recording.

It is expected that the Indian model will come with the same features as the Chinese variant.

The inner display of this phone measures 8.03 inches, while the outer display is 6.03 inches in size. For performance, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC chipset and comes with support for up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM.
