Israel Nominates Trump for Nobel: Netanyahu Says – You Deserve It; Pakistan Had Nominated Him Earlier

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. Netanyahu shared this information during a meeting with Trump at the White House on Tuesday.

Netanyahu said, "I want to show you the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize Committee. In it, I have nominated you for the Peace Prize. You truly deserve it. You should receive it."

He explained that he made this decision in light of Trump’s efforts to bring peace to the Middle East. Before Israel, Pakistan had recommended Trump’s name for the Nobel Peace Prize on June 20.

Earlier, Trump himself had claimed multiple times that he helped stop wars between several countries and deserved the Nobel. On June 22, he said, "I should have received the Nobel Peace Prize 4 or 5 times. But they won't give it to me because they only give it to liberals."

Trump Reiterates – Resolved Disputes Between Several Countries, Including India and Pakistan

President Trump on Tuesday once again claimed that his administration prevented a major war between India and Pakistan. He also claimed to have stopped conflicts between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as Rwanda and Congo.

Trump said, “We prevented many conflicts, including a major dispute between India and Pakistan. We told both countries that if you fight each other, we will not maintain any trade relations with you. They were perhaps on the brink of a nuclear war. It was crucial to stop it.”

Pakistan Army Chief Said – Trump Prevented India-Pakistan Conflict

Pakistan's Army Chief, General Asim Munir, met Donald Trump at the White House on June 18. This meeting came after Munir’s statement calling for Trump to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly stated that Munir credited Trump with preventing a conflict between India and Pakistan in May. In recognition of this statement, Trump invited him for lunch.

Two days later, the Pakistani government released an official statement saying that Trump played a crucial role in brokering a ceasefire by speaking to both New Delhi and Islamabad. This helped avert the threat of war between two nuclear-armed nations. Pakistan stated that during the India-Pakistan conflict, Trump’s diplomatic initiative and mediation helped prevent a major war.

Nobel Prize Nominations to Begin in September

Official registration for the Nobel Prize 2026 will begin in September. However, the final date has not yet been announced. The last date for nominations for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize was January 31.

A total of 338 nominations were submitted for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, including 244 individuals and 94 organizations. In 2023, there were 286 candidates for the prize. The highest number of nominations was in 2016, with 376.

According to the Nobel Prize website, the names of nominees in any category are not disclosed for the next 50 years.
